A space dedicated to parents of children with cystic fibrosis
Cystic fibrosis is a chronic, hereditary genetic disorder that primarily affects the lungs and the digestive system. It is characterized by the production of abnormally thick mucus, leading to recurrent respiratory infections, breathing difficulties, and problems with nutrient absorption. The condition requires intensive daily management: medication, respiratory physical therapy sessions, regular medical follow-up, and constant lifestyle adjustments.
The target population for this project is parents of children with cystic fibrosis. These parents act as caregivers and are heavily involved in the day-to-day management of the disease: organizing treatments, managing medical appointments, handling administrative tasks, and providing emotional support for their child. They face a high level of mental and emotional strain, significant time constraints, and a constant need for reliable information and support.
The proposed solution is a web application designed as a centralized, interactive tool. The main features are :
- access to reliable, up-to-date information on cystic fibrosis and treatments (e.g., Trikafta),
- access to practical and administrative resources (prescriptions, financial assistance, guides),
- participation in a discussion forum to share experiences and advice, with content categorized using AI
- watching videos on best practices for physical therapy, daily routine planning, and treatment management
