LupusCare

LupusCare

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is a chronic disease affecting the skin and internal organs. In Switzerland, an estimated 3,000 people suffer from lupus, 90% of them women. The estimated age range is between 20 and 40. The disease is not hereditary, contagious or psychosomatic, and does not cause cancer.

The majority of sufferers experience constant fatigue and are faced with motivation problems. Patients often experience a slightly elevated temperature and slight hair loss. A well-known and visible symptom is butterfly erythema (redness around the bridge of the nose, eyes and forehead).

The aim of LupusCare is to help patients feel better and give them back a sense of control and accomplishment in carrying out their daily tasks.

To do this, we are proposing a mobile application whose key feature is a Smart to-do list. This could work as follows:

  1. The user defines the tasks he/she would like to complete (frequency, priority, deadline, etc.)
  2. The user enters his/her state of health on a daily basis (level of fatigue, level of motivation, level of pain, etc.).
  3. The application recommends tasks for the day based on the user’s state of health.
  4. If the user’s state of health changes during the day, the tasks to be performed are updated to reflect the new state of health.
