CeliaCare

Coeliac disease is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the digestive system in response to the consumption of gluten. When a person with coeliac disease ingests gluten, their immune system reacts abnormally, causing inflammation and damage to the lining of the small intestine.

The symptoms of coeliac disease vary from person to person, but generally include gastrointestinal problems such as diarrhoea, bloating, abdominal pain and unexplained weight loss.

The aim of this project is to raise awareness and educate the public about a little-known disease that is widespread throughout the world.

The application main feature are:

  • a barcode scanner: instantly interprets information about the presence of gluten in the product.
  • a journaling system: calendar, treatment reminder, information on symptoms, iron levels, etc
  • Disease Information Card: an allergy card that users can share with others who are not familiar with coeliac disease.
  • Collaborative FAQ/Forum: offers users the chance to share experiences, ask questions and exchange advice. This feature fosters a supportive community, providing a virtual space where users can support each other and share their knowledge.
